Restaurant Proof Bartops...

We've made the big leagues. Check out this picture of Grind House Burgers in Atlanta. They have some pretty sweet beadboard around the bar and you guessed it, that is a Mississippi Wood Trader product!

Furniture Dabblings

So we've decided to do some small furniture and wood accent pieces. Here are some pictures of our furniture. Please let us know any feedback or if you would like to purchase something you see. Everything is custom made, so it can be to your own specifications and be a one of a kind piece. I will post more pictures as we get more things done.

Logs to Lumber

Down here in the fine neighborhood in which Mississippi Wood Trader resides, we have been making a giant mess. But it is a good mess and it is for a good cause. Out on Mount Paran in Atlanta is a jobsite where a new house is being built. They needed to cut down trees in order to provide space for said house. Now here is where Mississippi Wood Trader comes in. They, being a earth conscious green couple, felt bad about the destruction of these really old trees. Mississippi Wood Trader to the rescue! We are taking the trees that needed to come down and turning them into lumber for their new house. We have been steadily cutting logs to size, making them into cants and finally turning them into lumber. It is quite a busy, fun project. Here are some photos of what we have been up to so far in the month of September....Oh and another thing, I may have painted the forklift with pink polka dots. She is beautiful and her name is Helga.

We've Made It To Facebook

Mississippi Wood Trader has made the leap and we are now on Facebook. Become a "Fan" and follow our updates (if we can figure out how).

Facebook will provide MSWT with a good source to show pictures and keep posting about current projects and undertakings.

Going Green - Tough Guy style....

Ok,
So we have to come to terms on something. Although we are "tree recyclers", and run a really "green" shop, I like to think we retain some of what I call the "manly green" here at MSWT. We recently switched to 100% (almost) bio-fuels.

Up first is what we call "the frydaddy", which is our 2000 F-350 diesel, responsible for hauling, looking cool, and fetching. Way back when diesel hit $4.99 a gallon at the local chevron, I, after consuming about 4000 Tums, called the great folks at plantdrive.com and converted this bad boy over to burn straight veggie oil.
See picture - my version of the "flux capacitor" Thanks doc........

Also the smaller truck is fueled with 100% E85, or corn alcohol. Aka the stuff you drank by the gallon in college. Its a great fuel, but the exhaust smells like burnt whiskey, which I found out after a hangover, is not good.

So, although we are green, we like to retain our greenness in its most manly form (hopefully). Maybe whitney can ditch the Prius for a veggie truck.......ha!

More later......
